Who would have thought a few years ago that the region synonymous with walking, muddy boots and varying degrees of inclement weather would in fact become a place becoming known for luxury?
How Wainwright may have reacted to the new wave of luxury retailers, hotels, self catering and restaurants I don’t know but what it quite evident is it has given the Lake District and Cumbria a new lease of life and most importantly, a new market.
In the last 3 to 4 years there have been a number of hotels in this county and national park receiving a 4 star grading from The AA. These hotels have included the Langdale Hotel & Spa and Lodore Falls Hotel to name just two. Both hotels are leading the way in hotel accommodation, service, facilities and location.
4 star hotels vary throughout the United Kingdom from city centre high rise hotels to country retreats but what sets Cumbria’s 4 star hotels apart is the location. Who can rival the Langdale Valley or Derwentwater?
And the regions hotels are inviting much publicity at the moment with international reviewers and high quality publications both online and offline. The latest being Huffington Post and the piece in their Lifestyle section in December “Luxury in the Lakes: Cumbria”. The Langdale Hotel is listed and facilities and services detailed along with 3 other luxury hotels in the Lake District.
It is this time of year that grabbing a bit of 4 star luxury is affordable with great January offers from many of the hotels, well worth checking out these offers with bed and breakfast starting from £99 to include use of spa facilities.
